Mehul Patel, PE, is Executive Director of Operations for the Orange County Water District. He has been with the Orange County Water District (OCWD) for 28 years. Using his expertise is in implementing advanced treatment technologies for potable and nonpotable reuse, Patel manages the operations, maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation staff responsible for the district’s Groundwater Replenishment System, Green Acres Project, facility maintenance, groundwater recharge operations, and Prado Wetlands. 

  

Patel has extensive experience in pilot, demonstration, permitting, and full-scale operation of advanced and emerging treatment technologies. Patel received a BS in Civil Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and an MS in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. He is a registered professional civil engineer in California.  He holds a California Water Treatment Operator Grade T2 license and is a board-certified environmental engineer (BCEE).
